Stroopwafel Coffee: Creating Community and Calm with Every Cup

Stroopwafel Coffee: Creating Community and Calm with Every Cup

Most of us begin our mornings with the alerting sound of an alarm clock and stay stressed from there. For some, a coffee break is their best reprieve from chores or office work. For others, it’s how they relax on a slow Saturday or Sunday morning, or take a second away from screen time.

When we let it, coffee provides a moment of peace. But it’s also a staple of building community and connection. At Dutch Waffle Company, we created stroopwafel coffee—a balanced blend that complements our stroopwafels and sets an atmosphere of luxury, rest, and relaxation.

With the help of The Refinery Coffee Company in Goshen Indiana, we developed our original Stroopwafel Coffee. The coffee celebrates classic stroopwafel flavors of butter, cinnamon, stroopwafel cookies, and caramel and soothes with every sip.

The Best Ways to Enjoy Stroopwafel Coffee

Coffee is as versatile as the stroopwafel itself. Here are a few ways we like to use the stroopwafel coffee blend.

  • Hot or Iced: Stroopwafel coffee is delicious either hot or iced. At either temperature, you’ll pick up on the notes of butter, caramel, stroopwafel cookie, and cinnamon in your coffee.
  • In a Milkshake: This coffee milkshake recipe from Baking Mischief gives you all the info you need to make a magnificent coffee mocha milkshake. Crushed stroopwafels or our No Bake Stroopwafel Pie Crust make for a great topping!
  • Incorporated into Bakes: When steeped, the flavor of coffee beans can transfer their flavor to the liquid they’re in. Often, bakers steep coffee in a liquid and sugar combination so they can add coffee flavor to their bakes.

Give The Gift of the Perfect Morning Ritual

Coffee, mugs, stroopwafel tins, and stroopwafels themselves set the stage for any special occasion. All our products are easily mixed and matched so you can give gifts that fit your price point.

  • Coffee is a wonderful gift for birthdays, holidays, and special events—especially when paired with stroopwafels or a Dutch coffee mug.
  • Stock stroopwafel cookies and coffee at the office’s coffee station, the school teacher’s lounge, or staff retreats to give your employees extra appreciation.

Take the Time for a “Koffie Pauze”

In our post about the Dutch term “gezellig” we mentioned the traditional Koffie Pauze, a break during the workday when coworkers take time to enjoy each other and a cup of coffee.

“A Dutch “koffie pauze” goes beyond the simple act of grabbing a coffee and a work snack. It's about taking a moment to step away from the daily grind, connect with colleagues, and share a laugh or two. Picture a group of friends gathered around a table, steaming mugs of coffee warming their hands, as they chat about life, work, or simply the weather. This relaxed atmosphere fosters a sense of community and belonging, a perfect example of how gezelligheid can be incorporated into even the most routine aspects of life.”

With stroopwafel coffee, you can create gezellig at home or spread it to others in the workplace, at events, or while hosting during the holidays.

Whenever or wherever you enjoy your stroopwafel coffee, we hope it provides opportunities to sip, savor, and slow down.

Eet smakelijk,

Bianca
