3 New Ways to Enjoy Stroopwafels in Spring (With Just 3 Ingredients Each!)

3 New Ways to Enjoy Stroopwafels in Spring (With Just 3 Ingredients Each!)

Everyone gets tired of using the same-old recipes. This weekend after doing some spring cleaning, I got the itch to try something new. What was meant to be one experiment turned into three new treats I added to my arsenal – all using Stroopwafels. Best of all, none of these quick bites take more than 3 ingredients.

Stroopwafel + Nutella and Banana

The Nutella craze is still on. And for good reason. This weekend I spread some Nutella on a Stroopwafel, added some Banana slices, and Voila, I had my breakfast.

Nutella added a creamy texture and nutty flavor to the Stroopwafel. With the Banana slices, I found the combination created a slightly more savory dish that still had sweetness and tasted excellent with coffee.

Even better, the Nutella and Banana make the Stroopwafel more filling and pack in some potassium and protein. We’re not going to pretend this is a “healthy” breakfast option, but if you’re a runner or cyclist carb loading before a race, it might be the perfect pre-workout snack.

Otherwise, it’s just a delicious treat that’s an absolute delight to pair with your warm drink.

Dark Chocolate Pomegranate

I got the idea for this recipe when I had some dark chocolate pomegranate bark. Melted dark chocolate dotted with pomegranate arils makes for an indulgent dessert on its own, but I couldn’t resist pairing it with a Stroopwafel!

All you need to do is melt your chocolate in the microwave, and then spread it over your Stroopwafel. Dark chocolate works best, and using a higher quality chocolate bar does make a difference – though chocolate chips are still fine!

Once you’ve spread on the chocolate, just add pomegranate arils!

This is a treat best served cooled. A few minutes in the freezer will firm up the chocolate and give you a lovely summer snack with a sweet stroopwafel, some bittersweet chocolate, and pops of juicy pomegranate.

White Chocolate Raspberry

After tasting the Dark Chocolate Pomegranate treats there was one more combination I knew I had to try: white chocolate raspberry. For this dessert, I did use white chocolate chips and a handful of raspberries I had in the fridge.

We’re not reinventing the wheel here: all you have to do is melt your white chocolate and add some fresh raspberries on top to make a beautifully bright white chocolate dessert with a hint of tartness.

This is another variation that I put in the freezer for a few minutes so the chocolate could reset.

This one turned out to be a surprise favorite. The flavors felt light and sweet, but the tartness of the strawberries added dimension that balanced every bite.

Create Simple, Show-Stopping Treats For Your Next Coffee Date, Book Club, or Tea Party

My favorite thing about these treats is that they look incredible on a plate or platter but barely take any effort. If you’re hosting friends or family anytime soon, you can absolutely wow them with these simple desserts or have the ingredients around for everyone to make their own! Enjoy with coffee or tea (hot or iced) or even a glass of lemonade. Stroopwafel coffee is an excellent drink choice as it’s wonderful hot or iced and has the best complimentary profile to these snacks.

If you make these delicious bites, let us know which one is your favorite in the comments or on social media. And, as always, if you have your own recipe using our products that you want to share with the Dutch Waffle Company Community, send them to me at bianca@dutchwafflecompany.us.
